What is PCS International?
- PCS
was created in France in 1990 by Christina Fielvard
LLB MIEx. Her in-depth knowledge of the import/export
trade process through the forwarding industry, together
with a good grasp of European languages and a confirmed
sales background, gave birth to the idea of putting
this knowledge and experience to the service of the
small business often put off by the procedures of
international commerce as well as the language of
the target country, and for whom both access to, and
knowledge of, effective sales tools was often restricted
to much larger companies.
From this idea, Practical Consultancy Services was
born.
At the start, assignments involved the elaboration
and implementation of bespoke export development projects
for an essentially UK SME client base en-route to
Europe. Step-by-step accompanying in the export process,
enabled even the smallest of companies to achieve
an overseas sale in the target country, or at the
very least to establish a willing contact in the market
place, a seed sown from which to reap future business.
It pays tribute to the flexibility and commercial
mindedness of PCS that by 2005 over 900 cross-industry
companies had been assisted single-handed through
the international trade process.
- With
2008,
PCS has opened an office in Blantyre, Malawi,
working both with local producers and suppliers as
well as taking care of overseas interests for whom
Malawi also offers a central, safe and convenient
location for accessing neighbouring countries like
Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Mozambique.
- Languages
spoken: mother tongue fluency in both French and English,
understanding of Spanish and Italian, and confirmed
international business background not only in France,
but Southern Africa, the US as well as the UK. Contacts
within network can assure coverage in most other languages
including Mandarin Chinese.
- Extensive
experience in most major industries from FMCG and
Services to Manufacturing, as well as marketing expertise
whether channel, brand or integrated, ensures that

that what goes around, comes around, and will as far
as possible supply freebies in the form of beneficial
information/contacts/ideas where these are useful.

take confidentiality issues very seriously. Because
of the nature of the work we do, we may work very
closely with our clients, and we can therefore also
be privy to a great deal of information both personal
and professional. Because of this as a general
rule we operate a non disclosure policy for every
client, their business, their identity and every project
we deal with. The non-disclosure policy runs on
for a specified time even after the project has come
to an end. Other than generic names all other information
remains strictly confidential.
